First time caller, long time listener.

I was talking to an ARIS guru today (from Software AG!) and he was revealing to me all the capabilites and secrets ARIS have to offer. One particular one I was interested in was the ability to export all objects from a group (functions, tech terms, roles etc) onto an excel sheet with all associated attributes (ie. tech term has master as yes, so on). From that you can make an array of changes, adjusting names/associations/attributes, re upload the file and bada bing - objects updated.

 

I'm super interesting in replicating this, I've using the import excel function for a while now to do mass uploads. But the ability to make mass alterations is getting me going. I've tried my luck through the reports ("Output object information" was my no.1 hope), but I can't seem to get it right.

Does anyone have any idea on how this is done?

Hi All,

We have been tasked with upgrading a client from ARIS 7.2 to ARIS 9.8.7.

I have backed-up the database out of ARIS 7.2 and the size was 758MB.

Now, when I try to restore, we keep on getting errors, the latest being:

"Unable to import database. Restore error: Migration of V72 database xxxx failed: JAVA heap error"

The installation is to be done on Windows 2008 R2 server, connecting to SQL. The server has 32GB RAM and 8 Processors assigned.

Any ideas or suggestions.....

Hello,

We are currently having a very frustrating experience trying to get links to work on ARIS Publisher.

Links are defined as system attributes and we are using a publisher export profile that enables links. However, when we click on the link or copy the link in the export, we discover that it changes the link by adding the publisher server's address before the actual link that we previously defined.

We checked all topics listed below and tried the solutions. It almost seems like I am missing something very simple. Is there a way to fix this and just "click" on links on Publisher and go where you can go on ARIS client?

Hi, 

 

I want to enable the following feature in connect

 

Whenever a new user logs in, it should be assigned a aris viewer license. 

 

I tried to do it the following way. Add a usergroup with name exactly the same as an LDAP group. Assign ARIS Connect viewer license to that group. 

Result: When I login with a user, it is imported from AD; but no license is assigned. It doesnt show as a part of the usergroup. 

 

Any hints?

Hi all ,

We recently updated to 9.8 SR 8 from 9.8 SR1 .

1) We are keen to use the new CXM modeltypes (rolledout from SR2). Although we are able to model ,save and view them in the designer in the backend, these models are not getting published in the publisher. The privileges are all okay.

We tried with 4 of the new models - customer journey map , customer touchpoint map, customer touchpoint allocation diagram , journey landscape none of them are being exported to the publisher. Have you faced a similar issue wherein specific modeltypes are not being published ? I am able to create another modeltype in the same folder and publish it. There is no filter restriction as well.

2) Can you please also explain what is the purpose of  'arisservice' and 'guest' users? just noticed that these became available in the UMC after the update.

Hi all ,

I am currently using a query which displays output in a table view in ARIS. For eg : In the ARIS table view ,the result in the table view displays the symbols next to the object names..  

Now we tried to export this output as a table in MS excel and 2) also tried to copy and paste this output from ARIS to MS excel. But i am unable to copy the symbols into MS Excel along with the text.Only the text gets copied. Has anyone faced this issue ? Has anyone tried some workarounds / used some other desktop tool for spreadsheets?

I created an attribute symbol and the template is modified to display this symbol based on attribute value for my Object Type. But I will be using this Object Type in many models. I need to hide this symbol from showing up in few high-level artifacts. I tried to find an option in Model properties, but there is none. Does anyone know a way to show attribute symbol only in certain models?

We are trying to sync data between ARIS and SolMan.  We are able to pull BPMN diagrams from SolMan into ARIS without issues.  We are having trouble pushing Application System Type objects to SolMan though.  We get an error indicating missing virus protection software.

Has anyone else run into this problem?  Is there good documentation somewhere on how to configure this properly?

Hello - I'm trying to look for where I can configure page settings or printing settings for diagrams that I have created in Aris Connect. I've attached a screenshot of the version of ARIS that I am using. I'm not sure whether this is a feature that is not available in the version of ARIS that I am working in or whether I just haven't got the permission based on my role.

As you can imagine, the diagrams that I have created would be quite big and I want to make sure that each diagram can fit into a page instead of being sliced in different areas.

Hello everyone, my name is Sebastián

I'm working on a deal to implement ArisArchitect/Designer on a client. This client has several branchs with a dedicated internet connection of 10Mbits. We are looking for information related to the bandwidth traffic ArisConnectViewer will generate on each branch. I know it works over HTML5 and we are not looking to publish other information than the generated to document processes (no images, no videos).

Thas anyone knows the answer?

In an adhoc ARIS (v9.8) query, is it possible to display the number of occurrences of an object in a model in the table view? Is this an attribute I can easily extract?

For instance I've created a query to show me the applications supporting a capability and in addition to the application system type being displayed I'd also like to be able to find the number of times that application system type was utilized in the EPC process (or it's numerical weighting).  

Right now I'm using the functions that are associated with the application system type but are currently hidden.  This allows a visual row representation of the weighting that I'm looking for, but not the numeric value.  It has to be captured somewhere right?

Hi Everyone,

   We have few models done in BPMN 2.0, which we would like to conduct simulation experiments on. Since we are new and almost references lead us to simulation of EPC models, can someone help us with examples or reference materials for the same.

Hello,

Question: As I am new to ARIS would like to know if there is a way to import a filter backup to restore to original configurations?

We currently have ARIS 9.8 setup in English.  However, while in administration, we noticed that the Function Object Type Name was changed to Spanish "(Paso) de proceso.  All other objects, models, etc. are in English...

In addition, our filter was reset somehow -- here are some findings in an EPC model:

- Cannot connect any available objects (e.g. applications, documents, roles, positions, etc.) to function objects which include Function, Process Interface, SAP Object, etc
- Cannot create a relationship in a function object (error reads "Filter does not allow to assign models to this object type")
- ARIS Connect reporting is not displaying RA(S)CI because we cannot connect these objects to function objects

Hello Community!

I am trying to get data from ARIS to Alfabet. But I am getting some troubles with the Interoperability between them.

So, I am following the documentation steps and I am not able to map ARIS objects to Alfabet objects. The Alfabet option on ARIS side is unavailable.

Someone knows how can I solve the problem?

Hello community, sorry about my English.
I'm encountering a problem modifying publishing layouts.
Two layouts have been created, which I'll call here "lay01" and "lay02". These layouts worked perfectly in version 9.7. We have just migrated to version 10.0 and the files with their respective images have been added to the following path: Publisher \ server \ bin \ work \ work_businesspublisher_m \ base \ webapps \ businesspublisher \ layouts.
The problem is: the moment you adjust the settings for
perform the publication and define which layout to use only appears for selection the "lay01", the other "default" options; "default_accessibility"; "admin" and lay02 no longer appear.
Would anyone have any idea what's going on?

Hi,

   I have a requirement to create a process map using bpmn 2.0, which is pretty large and has around 700 steps/objects to go into a single model. I have a constraint not to use subprocesses or split and  knit processes together by an vacd. 

   So when trying to create a single map with 700 objects, ARIS 10 wouldn't allow me to cross morebthan 150 objects and my lanes and pools are getting freezed.

   Can someone help me know, if there are any constraint over the number of ibjects/lanr length in ARIS10.

   Appreciate ur help
